Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
I am a licensed, clinical social worker with 23 years of experience helping people heal and transform their lives. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology and my graduate degree in social work from the University of South Carolina and received advanced training in mind/body medicine from the Harvard Mind/Body Medical Institute.
Psychotherapy and mental health counseling is not just what I do, it’s who I am. Connecting with people in a compassionate and accepting way is part of my DNA.
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings including private practice, an in-patient behavioral health hospital, drug and alcohol rehab, mind/body medical clinic, and wellness & weight loss resort.
My treatment method is a collaborative process where the client and I work together in navigating the path to healing and wellness. I use a combination of therapeutic models with the goal of catering to the specific needs of each individual and I provide my clients with personal insight tools that help energize the healing process.
My general therapeutic philosophy draws from a strengths perspective and some of the modalities I employ include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and RTM (Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories).
